A mispriced La Jolla home sits on the market longer, and eventually sells for less than a similar, correctly priced La Jolla communities home. So found John R. Knight, a professor at University of the Pacific. In his 2002 study, "Listing Price, Time on Market, and Ultimate Selling Price," he examined 3,490 La Jolla, Calif., homes and found that sellers who didn't reduce their prices sold for 97% of the initial list price.
