Leave a comment » New French Chef in La Jolla VillageNew French Cuisine at Old La Jolla Restaurant What was once Cafe Lautrec in the La Jolla Village area of La Jolla, is now Cafe Lavande, or the "lavender Cafe". You can find Cafe Lavande on Girard Avenue in La Jolla. Owned and operated by Ted Witte and his wife Katy, the Cafe focuses on quality. The food that Witte (who is also head chef) serves is classically French. "His goal is for others to take away an increased knowledge of what French cuisine is all about when they leave Cafe Lavande" according to Kailee Bradstreet, writer for La Jolla Village News. In keeping with the Cafe's name, the decor of the restaurant is in shades of lavender, violet and pale purples. The atmosphere is elegant but not stuffy. There is also an outdoor patio so customers can enjoy the fine food and the amazing views that La Jolla has to offer. Chef Witte attended The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York and worked in several upscale eateries, including Kensington Grille in San Diego. Katy Witte also works at Cafe Lavande in La Jolla with her husband. She is the bookkeeper, hostess and greeter. When you are ready for some fine French Cuisine, head on down to Cafe Lavande in La Jolla and enjoy. http://www.lajollacommunities.com/0064A5 Posted on August 20, 2007 07:28:07 by Marti Gellens
