Halloween in La Jolla

HALLOWEEN IN LA JOLLA

Ok kids.... I don't know too many people who don't like Halloween.  After all, it is the one day of the year when you can literally take candy from a baby.  Admit it parents!  When the kids go to bed after hours of trick or treating fun, you snatch some of the goodies and gobble them up.

Well here it is again, another Halloween in La Jolla.  Here are some great ideas to make your holiday fun and safe.

If you are planning a party you obviously don't have to come up with a theme.  That is of course unless you have very young children who may become frightened at the sight of a skeleton swinging over the doorway.  If your children are little, try a cartoon theme.  Dress them up as their favorite cartoon character and have their friends do the same.

Some fun games to play might include:

  • Pass the pumpkin.  Similar to musical chairs only noone is running around the room.  Have the children sit in a circle and pass  small pumpkins around in a circle.  Make sure that there is one less pumpkin than there are children.  The child who does not have a pumpkin when the music stops is out.  Just make sure as you remove the child you take one pumpkin away.
  • You could also do a cupcake decorating table at your party.  It is easy to color frosting with a little bit of food coloring.

For the Children who don't frighten easily and who enjoy a bit of blood and gore, have them dress as their favorite horror movie character or maybe even let them come up with something scary on their own.  I personally don't recommend a pinata at a La Jolla Halloween party.  The kids will have enough sugary treats without adding more from the insides of a defenseless, paper mache creature.

Whatever you choose to do on Halloween in La Jolla just please be safe.  Keep an eye on your children and make sure you check their candy before allowing them to eat it.
