Refreshing your La Jolla home with bright and lively paint colors in time for Spring

Spring has always been described as starting anew, turning a new leaf, so to speak. As winter comes to an end, La Jolla homeowners begin wanting to match the colors of their home with Spring's cheerfulness and enthusiasm. With the onset of Spring, The Valspar Corporation, a leader in the paint and coatings industry, offers a wide array of color palettes that "provide a great foundation as people look for a fresh start after a tough year," according to Sue Kim, color trend and forecast specialist from Valspar. Kim reiterated that, "Spring is the perfect time to renew home décor, and move from the dark, dusty colors of winter to bright, nature-inspired colors."

Getting inspiration from the Watercolor Impression and Peaceful Ambiance Trends, Valspar's 2010 color trend palettes, specifically the three palettes intended for spring were designed by Kim and Ann McGuire, Valspar color consultant. These color palettes can surely make your house in La Jolla warmer and more inviting. The colors are more on the shade of blue, giving the impression of sparkling water, that add the comfy-vibe to your spring repainting projects.

Peaceful Optimism: Imagine yourself in a wheat field with violets mingling. This was based on the admirable combination of lavender and yellow, creating a feeling of serenity and peacefulness.

-Brushed Lavender

-Midsummer Twilight)

-Baked Scone

-Churchill Hotel Ivory

-Lovely Bluff

Wishing Well: "Blue is the new green." This palette promotes the environmental awareness campaign to preserve and conservewater. With this principle in mind, this palette gives hope, peace and quiet in your home.

-Fountain Mist

-Sea Kiss

-Fresh Pear

-Ivory Dust

-Oatbran

Warm Glow: Inner warmth and peace has never been easier to achieve with this peachy colors palette, creating a glowing ambience. To give it a new twist is Lime Ice, but if you opt for the classic and traditional look, Sparkling Sage is the one for you.

-Mark Twain House Peach

-French Cream

-Lime Ice or Sparkling Sage

-Caribbean Walk

-La Fonda Santa Fe Brown

McGuire shared that people need a fresh outlook after a cold winter and repainting your home into something brighter and livelier is one of the easiest ways to get that outlook. "Any of these colors would look great in a kitchen, entry, bedroom, living room, or any space you wish to revive," McGuire furthered.

The world has changes significantly over the past few years. There are new ways to do business. One such way is working from home. Across the USA this is a popular work solution for many business people. There are many La Jolla residents that are joining the ranks of those that work from home.

What makes a home office successful? A computer, phone, fax machine, copier, a desk and Internet connection -- you are ready to go!

Or are you?

Yes those items are important, but it is not just the items, but the design of this space is very important too! You will be spending a lot of your time in this La Jolla home office and you need to set this space up wisely. Above all your La Jolla home office needs to be comfortable, well lit, accessible and practical

First you identify the space you will be using, who will be using this space in your La Jolla home and what you will be doing in that space. The next step is deciding what will be the layout of this space. Most people setting up their first home office in La Jolla take very little time to consider the fact that how they plan and setup their office might affect their business.   Home Office Design Guide  and Home Office Fundamentals are two websites you will want to check out as you organize and create your La Jolla home office.
